HYPOTUBE Technology
Creganna provide a complete range of solutions to assist medical device and life science companies get products from concept to production. Creganna specialize in design and manufacturing of delivery devices for minimally and less invasive therapies.
Creganna are the world's leading company in the design and manufacture of hypotubes for catheter shafts. These shafts are the conduit between the physician and the medical device within the patient during a transcatheter procedure.

Hypotube based device shafts offer superior performance during minimally invasive interventions due to their combination of push, trackability and torque.

Creganna can provide engineers with a choice of hypotube designs i.e. Skived, Laser cut or Wire Welded. Alternatively engineers can combine a two or more of the above technologies to achieve their goal of providing a smooth transition between the proximal and distal end of the catheter to maximize torque, push and trackability between the catheters.

EzGlide

EzGlide is a polymer overjacket for metal hypotubes. It features a 0.002" (0.05mm) wall thickness and is available in a range of material options and colors to enable product differentiation.

This solution combines the push and track of a metal tube with faster and smoother navigation of a polymer overjacket.

Polymer overjacket materials include: ·

  • Nylon, all grades
  • Pebax
  • Polyimide
  • FEP
  • Polyethylene

Polevault
PoleVault™ is a hypotube specifically designed by Creganna to optimise catheter performance. Improve hypotube kink resistance from 10% to 40% without compromise of push, track, torque or flexibility.

Polevault can:

  • Increase interventionalist confidence in your product.
  • Reduce patient risk.
  • Maximise catheter revenue.

PTCA / PTA Ballloons

EU-Asia is working with ARTHESYS to provide a full range of semi-compliant Balloons for PTCA and PTA applications on an OEM basis.

ARTHESYS stock a full range of sizes [1.0mm - 8.0mm]. Each size has been validated The full range have been validated and are blown using ARTHESYS’s priority process. Properties include low profile, flexability and strength. ARTHESYS ballons have a low profile and RBP is 18ATM and NBP is 6 ATM for all but the larger sizes.

All standard sizes are available and custom sizes can be manufactured to order.

Extruded Tubing
ANSAmed are the European leader of high quality, precision extrusion with over 12 years experience in developing and producing tubing for the interventional cardiology, radiology, urology, gastrostomy and neuro-radiology fields.

Quality Control
ANSAmed operates state of the art extrusion equipment with automatic feedback loop systems that allow them to maintain constant melt pressure.

Ansamed’s quality system requires a Cpk of 1.33 for all production batches. However, for balloon tubing and multilayer tubing where sample to sample consistency in terms of dimensional & mechanical properties is critical, Ansamed Cpk target is 1.50. Their state of the art multilayer and balloon tube extrusion technology allows them to hold tolerances down as low as +/-0.007mm whilst maintain a Cpk level of 1.50

Cleanroom
All processing is carried out in Class 10,000 and 100,000 Cleanrooms complying with the industry`s highest standards of GMP, ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines

Co-extrusion

This is the process of combining or layering materials so that the medical tube obtains the best characteristics from each. For example in PTCA tri layers the HDPE inner improves the strength of the lumen and the lubricity of the lumen. The outer layer will improve flexibility and kink resistance.

co-extrusions are used for the following applications

1. PTCA / PTA tri-layer inner tubing – Improves strength and lubricity.

2. Two Layer Balloon Tubing – Improves burst Pressure and Compliance.

3. Two Layer Outerbody tubing – improves burst pressure and flexibility.

Balloon Tubing

AnsaMed specialize in the production of single and two layer balloon tubing. A strong focus is placed on consistency to ensure the balloon blowing process is as consistent as possible.
Technological innovation has allowed AnsaMed to develop a consistent process for manufacturing 2 x Layer Balloon Tubing. This process results in higher burst strength and lower compliance in the blown balloon.

Materials
AnsaMed work with all thermoplastic materials and have agreement with many suppliers to supply them with optimum grades suitable for specific applications i.e. low gel count batches for balloon blowing etc.

Javelin

Creganna Tactx Medical have combined their hypotube experience with their material capability and have developed a new material “Javelin” specifically for specialty needle applications:

Javelin is a high performance alloy for specialty needle applications that enables better surgical outcomes. The alloy is optimized for longer needles that must navigate long and complex anatomical paths or needles that sample difficult tissue types such as those with a dense mass.

Javelin features:

  • Excellent shape set resilience.
  • Greater material hardness.
  • High column strength.
  • Superior resistance to damage.

Javelin outperforms SS in the following ways;

  • Up to 95% improvement in shape set resilience.
  • Column strength up to 30% higher.
  • Up to 35% harder material.

Microflex

A micro metal tube of less than 0.013" OD specially developed for minimally invasive device delivery within the body's smallest vasculatures. Microflex is available in dimensions of 1f (0.013") or less. Microflex features a highly flexible stainless steel tube of single piece construction with variable transition of lateral stiffness along its length.

Traditional micro tube solutions consist of multi-piece assemblies to acheive varying flexibility over a long length. Multi-piece assemblies are labour-intensive solutions that present the product deisgner with the challenge of minimizing profile and achieving a smooth transition at numerous join zones.

In contrast, Microflex has no join zones due to it's single-piece design yet has limitless design possibilities for varying degrees of flexibility and controlled change of stiffness. Microflex is a cost effective design solution that maximises end-product margins.

Technical Data

  • Sizes: 0.013" OD or less, 0.002" minimum wall thickness.
  • Material: Medical grade stainless steel.
  • Optional features:
    - Lubricious ID liner for reduced friction,
